where story and community meet
Story Exchange
Story Exchange is a project is running through 2024. We brought together students from St Augustine's School, in Halifax with local elders, and Students at Hebden Royd School in Hebden Bridge with a group of elders from South Asia. The children and elders shared stories, songs and poems.
This project will be ready to share in Autumn 2024.

The Hippies of Hebden
The Hippies of Hebden is a film which explores the arrival of the hippies to Hebden Bridge. It creates a space for the perspectives of all who lived through that time. We hope it is a healing film, and a film that celebrates all the people who make this town an amazing place to live.
To join us at the film screening in the summer at the Town Hall

The film will be available to watch online in Autumn 2022

Be Belonging
BE BELONGING is an inter-generational project that has brought together local elders and school children from Hebden Royd Primary School.
The children interviewed 5 elders over zoom and then the children worked with a local musician – Holly Marland – to create soundscapes to accompany these memoir monologues, resulting in these soundscape-memoir-songs. We hope you enjoy hearing these stories and that you learn something new about how children lived, played and learnt in the past.
